New Teaser and Visual Released for Korean Parasyte Live-Action Series

Netflix has unveiled a new teaser visual and English-subtitled teaser trailer for "Parasyte: The Grey," the South Korean live-action adaptation of Hitoshi Iwaaki's "Parasyte" manga. Set to premiere worldwide on April 5, the series will run new episodes until June.

Starring Jeon So-nee, Koo Kyo-hwan, and Lee Jung-Hyun, the adaptation is helmed by director Yeon Sang-ho ("Train to Busan," "Peninsula") and scripted by Ryu Yong-jae ("Peninsula," "Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area"). Notably, Kwon Hae-hyo and Kim In-kwon have joined the cast, with their roles yet to be disclosed.

The series, while based on the manga, will introduce a fresh storyline. Jeon portrays Jeong Su-in, who enters a peculiar coexistence with a parasite after surviving an attack, while Koo's character Seol Kang-woo searches for his missing sister by tracking parasites. Lee takes on the role of the leader of The Grey, a task force combating parasites, driven by personal loss.

Iwaaki's original manga, serialized from 1990-1995, depicts a world overrun by alien Parasites that infiltrate humans. "Parasyte" previously inspired a television anime in 2014 and two live-action films in 2014 and 2015.
